Once upon a time, there was a boy named Sid and a girl named Carrie. They’ve known each other since their elementary school days. In fact, they have been in a relationship before. But it was stupid; they were both too young to know how it really works. Sid and Carrie both decided to just be homies. In high school, this was years after their break up, both of them didn’t really speak to each other. But it was not those types of hate relationships after break ups either, it was just awkward. When junior year came around, they ended up in council and history class together. Things were getting better; they slowly started to talk to each other again. One day, Sid asked Carrie if he could copy her history flashcards; that’s when they first had their real hang out. The day after, Carrie decided to take Sid’s Halloween virginity. They both had lots of fun and continued to hang out every weekend or whenever Sid wanted to copy Carrie’s flashcards again. Sid would always want Carrie to have study dates with him, but it was really just an excuse to hang out with her. Things were not as awkward anymore, they’ve become close homies. They wrote letters to each other, watched movies together, took lots of pictures, had nerf gun fights, made matching bracelets, gave each other Christmas presents, texted each other daily, and many more. It’s funny how things work out. After three months of talking and hanging out, Sid decided to confess to Carrie that he likes her. It was a good moment to tell her because they were both sitting around the pond full of ducks at night, while having interesting conversations about people and their lives. Sid asked Carrie if she likes him back; unfortunately, she did not give him the kind of answer that he was expecting. Carrie’s answer wasn’t a “yes” or a “no”, it was a “maybe” or more like a “not a yes yet”. It was quite confusing; she could not find the right words to explain the feeling she was having. A day after tomorrow both of them met up again and continued their conversation from before. But this time, Carrie was speechless when Sid told him how he really felt. There were a lot of things in her mind but only a few words spoken. She was just unsure and scared of what’s going to happen next, it was complicated since she hasn’t liked a guy in so long. Though they both continued to talk and spend time together like nothing has changed. Carrie started realizing that what they both have is enchanting, significant, and nothing compared to their past (but in a good way). Sid told her that she should feel appreciated for the things he has done for her and to oftentimes return the compliment. Well she knew that if Sid stopped liking her, she would feel really sad and have full of regrets. But what he doesn’t know is that he is the reason why she looks forward in going to school every day, gets excited whenever she receives a text from him, and wouldn’t say no to study dates with him. The truth is… Carrie has been in denial for a while. She cares about him and knows that she likes him a lot, but she would act like he wasn’t anything to her towards other people whenever they bring up his name in a conversation. The reason for this is because Carrie did not want others to know that she likes him, she wanted to let him know from her own voice instead of hearing it from others first. And now she wants the opportunity and chance to show Sid that. So here I am today, telling you that I like you too :)
